Re: [Outside Vade: Atticus/Steve]
Atticus tried to ignore scents. Was hard, but it was something he deliberately attempted to block out. Was one of the things he'd had a hard time dealing with after the wolf. Was willful. The scents were still there, but Atticus refused to acknowledge them. Only worked in that he refused to deal with what he didn't want to deal with. Janus had told him once that he worked hard in order not to work. Was true. Right now, Atticus smelled like skin. No cologne. Nothing in his bag that would make him look good. Had been washing in a sink.
Didn't mind the kiss, even in public. Had come a long way. Kissed Steve back, briefly, hard, and with a hint of incisor as he drew back. Fingers were still on Steve's nape. Kept them there. Was too old to care what people thought. Atticus' discomfort had always been about Atticus, not about the world at large. Stepped back slight, just enough to point down the street. "This way. Small bar that thinks it's a pub." Moved aside and waited for Steve to fall into step beside him. Dragged his feet. Didn't hurry. "Take it OK?" Wasn't surprised to hear Steve had spoken to Janus.
