log: antique store: damian and louis
Who: Damian W and Louis D
What: Damian comes to work for Louis.
Where: The antique store
Louis, as promised, had fetched the bagels and cream cheese. There were two kinds, even - plain and strawberry. He had already started in on one himself as he readied the store for opening. It was bright and early, and he was keen to get his hands on some coffee once Damian arrived.
It was hard to get out of bed that morning. He had been sleeping very deeply since he had gone hunting for Misha, or since he had asked the thing, Desire, to go hunting. It had indicated there would be a trade of some kind for the effort needed, as it expanded itself beyond its current singular form to look for the missing angel. No doubt it would have been a steeper price had he actually needed to go to him, but he would have been willing to pay it. So far, all he could tell was that the creature seemed closer to the surface, and he felt himself growing much more wan and uneasy if he spent too much time alone, away from human want, than he had before.
Nevertheless, life went on, and there were bagels to eat and coffee to make. He liked having Damian in. He felt a mixture of emotions - pleasure just at someone else getting involved in his passion, enjoying Damian's company, and gladness that he could perhaps do some good for him.
When the shop bell tinkled, he was perched behind the counter, eating a cinnamon bagel with strawberry cream cheese. The bag sat untied on the counter, beside two neatly displayed tubs. "Good morning."
