He smiled, pleased at the boy’s interest. “It’s called ‘Loki’s Saga’. Great name, huhh? Another favourite of mine is ‘The Gospel of Loki’, which retells all the old stories from his point of view. Quite eye-opening,” he added with a little grin. Of course they were all works of fiction, but all fiction starts with a nugget of truth, doesn’t it? And from his point of view, he was the hero of the story, not the villain as others would tell it.
“They’re great books; the library has them.” He took another sip of his coke while Ben spoke, and then nodded in agreement. “Right. I mean, it was all written long after it happened. Who’s to say that maybe Odin was actually the villain. If the villain were to win, well, he’d tell his own story in the best light possible, wouldn’t he?”
’You’re full of shit,’ Nish laughed.
’Am I?’ he said, his tone allowing for the possibility that he was indeed telling the truth.
