Loki chuckled at the boy’s obvious discomfort. “There is, and you can definitely join if you’d like. The league runs for eight weeks, and we’re on week two right now, and there’s always coaches around and players to help you,” he explained. “Come on,” he said, tilting his head towards the bar, “I’m going to get a beer, and we can discuss options with the manager.”
He lead Ben towards the bar where guy in his mid-thirties was busy pouring a drink for another thirsty player. “Hey, Kevin,” Loki greeted as they approached. Kevin spotted them and waved with a grin.
“Hey, Loki,” he said, handing over the glass and then heading over to their end of the bar. “What’s up? Nice throwing out there, by the way,” he said, causing Loki to grin and nod in acknowledgement.
Thanks. Hey, we got a newbie here who needs some help, and I need a pint,” he said, gesturing to Ben next to him. Kevin turned his gaze on the kid with a welcoming smile.
“Always happy to take in new people,” he said, “you over 18? I’ll need to see some ID of course, especially if you want a drink. Have you ever thrown before?”
