Loki had just finished his set – his first perfect 81 – and was high on victory after being raucously congratulated by the other league members. He smiled and laughed and then headed off towards the bar to get himself a beer.
Halfway there was the front door, and he spotted someone loitering just inside it looking positively bewildered and out of place, as if he wasn’t exactly sure how he’d found himself here. ’Loki,’ Nish playfully scolded his unvoiced thoughts, ’leave him alone, he’s just a kid…’
’What? I’m just going to be friendly and welcome the newbie,’ he chuckled, striding over to the new face with a smile. “Hey,” he said aloud, “you look lost. Are you new to the league?” If he’d signed up for league night, there’d be a record of him, if not, he was a walk-in and could probably get a coach.
