Re: Mission Uncomfortable: Secret Santa Edition
Cat's pajamas were the cat's pajamas. Reece had told her about his conversation with his Santa, and Cat was encouraging. She wanted him to have friends, and wasn't that just impressively selfless of her? Perhaps it was the holiday spirit, or perhaps it was the awakening that had come with being older and then younger. Whatever the reason? She was glad he'd managed to have a good dialog with his Santa. After all, it wasn't as if she had the most welcoming family ever. Well, he was talking to Eddie recently, and she was unspeakably happy about that. But this, this was good too, and so Cat was dressed in those cat's pajamas that were the bee's knees. She had on some little slippers, and her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, and she was in the kitchen when the knock at the door came.
Did she peek? Of course she did.
Was she surprised? Oh, god, was she ever. She ducked herself back into the kitchen, and she tried to decide how surprised she was to see her sister standing outside the door. For a moment, Cat thought perhaps this was just random, just Sasha and Abe dropping by. But that belief lasted just long enough for what she'd seen through that sliver of space between Reece's shoulder and the door to filter. They were wearing pajamas, which meant this wasn't a random little visit.
Alright, so, that decided, Cat pulled out a bottle of OJ, some Grand Marnier, and some Champagne. A very expensive crystal pitcher came next, and she mixed up some mimosas and poured out a few flutes. A sip later, and she walked out into the living are with champagne flute loosely between her fingers. "Well, isn't this a surprise?" Without hesitation, she set the flute aside and grabbed the cakes from her sister. One by one, she handed them to Reece, and then she hugged Sasha and kissed her cheek. "Happy holidays, Sasha." Abe got a warm smile as she stepped back from Sasha. "Abe." She glanced over her shoulder at Reece just to ensure he was still breathing.
