Yeah, yeah, it's been a long time, but privacy and all that. You don't happen to still be around on here, do you? No weird dark train rides that took you out of town permanently?

[Bemused. Anon.] Lipstick on a train. Would I leave you?

You might. You can be sneaky. Slip off in the middle of the night to do dead drops with some other stunningly gorgeous woman.

How've you been?

I lead an adventuresome life.

Not myself, and I didn't enjoy it.

Big words coming from a man that tries to sleep through a party.

Sounds like you chose the wrong person to be. Anything to do with those drinks a couple weeks ago? Or are you that most popular boy from the lake that everyone is bothering?

I might have lied, just then.

No, not at all. To either case. Nothing to blame but my own mind, sad to say.

You could have also lied just then. I'll never know.

Sometimes our minds play vicious tricks on us. Do you want to talk about it to a stranger that doesn't judge, or do you want to tell me you're fine now?

I keep deep secrets.

I am recovering well enough. Minds are like bones. They break and heal, but they are not the same.

It's a good thing you're anonymous, or I'd take that as a challenge.

I am glad to hear it, though be warned I have a very soft spot for those with broken minds. Do you think your mind isn't the same now as it was before? And do you want it to be?

If I wasn't anonymous, I don't know if I could say it.

No, and no. But then, it is not the same as it was yesterday.

With a name or not, everyone in this town has secrets. They don't stay secret for long, unless you're the only person that knows. Do you have people you trust with these deep secrets?

Experience changes us. Sometimes the wiring gets all screwy, but it doesn't make it bad. It's how we grow and learn. Did you learn from it?

I used to have people. They made it clear they did not want me to tell them things, so I stopped. They don't want to be associated with bad people any longer. I'm not nearly as charming as certain other anonymous people I could mention.

No? Then what kind of thing was it?

I'm a world-class thief. It's stuff they know I've done. Good girls don't carry guns around with them, do they?

Nothing a trip to a therapist would take care of then.

That depends entirely on when you're asking about. When I was a kid, it was food and clothes. Then it graduated to cars and weapons. Now it's whatever gives me a fun challenge, or whatever the highest bidder pays me to get for them.

Good thoughts are known to happen occasionally. You're fine now, but do you think it'll happen again?

It's not fun if it's not a little dangerous.

It would only concern me if it were my things you were stealing, beautiful.

I couldn't say. I don't know who you are. But I haven't stolen anything from anywhere in Repose. Nor do I think you have anything my employer would want.

Then there is no need for concern is there? But really, my employer focuses more on the big picture. Things that could hurt a lot of people. I take it, they contain/destroy it.

You never tried to contact me again. I must have done something wrong. No one else likes me much either, and I am trying to fix that.

No. I am the dragon.
