Log: Atticus and PJ
Who: PJ and Atticus
What: Meat and Greet
Where: PJ's car and then onward
When: After their conversation
Warnings: Nah
[PJ's mind was all over the place. It was going back and forth between relief, anticipation, concern, exhaustion, hunger, curiosity, and affection. But there was, perhaps shockingly, no inclination to rip Atticus' head off. If she thought back to how she would have reacted if he had told her what he wanted to do BEFORE he had done it, then she could easily see where that inclination might have come in. But for some reason - anger wasn't even on her radar. She wasn't mad.
She was concerned, mostly for his health, his mental state, where he'd been all night, who he'd been with, shame that it hadn't been her.
Relief that all of the million scenarios she'd come up with in her brain over the past weeks weren't true. They seemed to be far from true. And there was some guilt that she thought they could be true.
Anticipation on what she'd find when she saw Atticus. Did he regret it? Was he happy? Was he sad? Scared?
Exhaustion because even though she wasn't out the night of the moon it was still hard on her.
She was starving. Nothing really new there.
She was so curious. Who had me met in Chicago? Who had been willing to give this to him and let him go? What had he learned?
And affection. As per usual. She just wanted to curl up all over her friend and never talk herself into believing bad things again.
She pulled up outside, dressed in sweatpants and a sweatshirt, because she was lazy. She honked the horn as requested. It was loud and old, and attached to her pink Barracuda.]
