log: gunster dinner
Who: Gunster kids
Where: Gunster abode
When: recently!
What: family dinner
Warnings: probably nothing
Connie was in the kitchen finishing up dinner. Her white hair was pulled back in a colorful headband, she wore a spaghetti stained apron that she had had since a teenager and one of her usual nerdy dresses with black stockings. Not that anyone could actually see her as she blurred around the kitchen. One minute she was cutting veggies, another she was checking the oven, the next she was popping open some wine. Connie usually didn't get the chance to use her abilities while she was making food for people at the B&B, so she utilized it as much as she could at home. It felt a little like playing jazz or beating a level at Doom. Everything felt better when she was between now and soon.
Once food was about ten minutes from being done and Adrian was on his way over, Connie grabbed a glass of wine and went outside to howl at the moon. Too much time travel all at once made her look a little like her dad, mostly a skeleton rather than a 20-something weirdo, and it took a little moon howling to get back to normal. Once she could feel the skin growing back on her bones, she took a couple more sips of wine and then headed inside. She checked the microwave to make sure her eyes weren't still glowing and then took off her apron.
"Patriiicckk!" She called, hanging the apron up and then going to get the food out of the oven. Tonight was Italian chicken, veggies and a side of pasta. Grown up Gunster food. "SET THE TABLE PLEASE ADRIAN WILL BE HERE SOOOOOOON" She did her best mom voice and then started to put food on the table before leaving the rest to her brother. She collapsed in one of the wooden chairs and stretched her legs out, letting her mary jane shoes fall off her feet a little. She grinned up at Patrick when he walked in. "Well, I'm exhausted. Time for a nap." But, really, she wasn't tired so much as nervous. Making food for people was second nature to Connie. But, seeing Adrian again? She wasn't sure how it'd all go.
