Diner: Claire J & Max W
Who: Claire & Max
What: Breakfast and chatter!
Where: Max's Diner
When: Early morning.
Warnings/Rating: Highly unlikely.
Claire had spent the entire night crawling around town looking for something. It was the same routine almost every evening. The hunt. Searching for some trace of demonic influence or other equally evil supernatural taint. The woods. The lake. The cemetery. It was easy to prowl at night, but after the sun rose? Then she needed to talk to people. Today was no different, and like most mornings since the diner opened, Claire had been waiting outside for the door to be unlocked.
She had plans to go to the antique store soon. Today or tomorrow. While she didn't think there would be anything particularly ominous there, there were often clues within the spaces between objects. That was for later. Right now, Claire was in her usual seat at the diner, scarfing down scrambled eggs and toast as if it were going out of style.
"Add 15 to this for a cup." Claire paused, and looked up at Max, pencil idly tapping against the newspaper. "Ten letters." Heart-shaped sunglasses were perched on her head to keep that long brown hair out of her face, "Be a hero, sweetness." Effortlessly, she beamed at him, elbow on the counter and chin propped in her hand. She liked crossword puzzles. They helped keep her English in the front of her mind. Of course, even though she was fluent, there was still that drawl of vowel that defied native speech. Over the forums, she could pass for American, but her voice belied that assumption, placing her firmly as European.
