[It was just after 6 when Liam finally left the library, leaving it in the (mostly) capable hands of one of the part-timers on staff. His corduroy jacket was zipped up to his chin and a striped scarf wound around his neck to ward off the wind that threatened to get between the layers of clothing to chill his skin. But he put his head down and marched down Main Street to the antique store.
He wasn't entirely sure what it was about the watch that had drawn his eye, but it had and he knew he needed to have it. The money was in his pocket, crumpled bills that had seen better days, and he walked swiftly, eager to get out of the wind and into the relative warmth of any other building.
The door slammed shut behind him, a little too forcefully with the gust of wind that had whipped down the street, and inside, the shop was blessedly warm and quiet. Liam stepped further in, unwinding his scarf as he went and shoving a hand back through messy brown hair to push it away from his face.]
