Log: Oona and Luke
Who: Oona and Luke What: Late night Where: The Bar With No Name When: Around 11 PM Warnings/Rating: None yet
It was late. She hadn’t noticed. Hadn’t cared. Oona had left the shop way after closing down when sleep alluded her. The changing weather of spring to summer left a balmy scent of shriveling lilacs It hadn’t even been to the Lucky Dog she was going. She hadn’t decided until she saw the glow of the sign still on and sizzling.
Wednesday night at the No Name? Sure. Why not? There were practically no cars in the parking lot and only a few lining the street in front.
Golden bracelets clinked, shoes clicked. She liked the way the fabric of her dress twirled when she did, unfurling like a late bloom tulip. It was spring now so she dared to evoke the warmer weather by wearing an eyelet number with lotion cured bare legs. Legs that prickled with goosebumps as the a/c slid across her bare skin when she walked through the front door.
When she entered there was practically no one but a few hard-drinking locals. She recognized a few. A quick inspection around the place and she spotted a jukebox. Casually she moved to the bar, tossed her purse up on top, and then dug inside for a crisp twenty. The jukebox had gone quiet and that would not do. Since she’d claimed her spot she moved unaffected toward the glowing, dazzle of the music box. It ate her money and then she spent a few minutes bent over the list, flipping through, pressing buttons and choosing the songs that would keep them company for a while. Judging by the selection there was a strict preference for the type of music played in here.
Through the rose soap scent that lingered on her skin was the aroma of the peppermint smack of lip gloss that she'd applied just minutes before walking into the bar. A finger had tangled up in the gold charmed necklace that hung at her neck as the music began. And unrepentant, unconcerned she began to sing along to this.
She strutted toward George, the bearded transient that usually smelled like stale booze and cigarettes and pointed a finger at him. Oona started singing as Klaus broke in (changing the lyrics to accommodate her gender).
"BOY, it's been a long time that we've been apart Much too long for a girl who needs love I miss you since I've been AWAYYYYYYYY...
He may have blushed. That was the reaction she'd hoped for.
When the song was done she went back to her purse. The next selection was started- Dream On by Aerosmith (She forgot she chose this one) and she was thinking about what she wanted to knockback, waiting for the bartender to serve her.
