[Road: Holly NW and Audrey C]
Noah was working late, and Holly was driving the guy's Jeep from the Capital back into town. He'd delivered a bunch of vintage records to a collector out that way, someone who was willing to pay for the privilege of not waiting for shipping, and Holly was perfectly cool taking the loaded guy's money for the trip. And he was only kinda paying attention at this point. He was listening to music blared loudly from the Jeep's open windows, but he was mostly thinking about Noah and how fucked up the guy had been since the Audrey thing.
Holly? Was so not fucked up by the Audrey thing.
He had his own shit to worry about, right? This entire town was a hotbed of people going missing and shit going wrong. Tandy had disappeared, and it wasn't like the entirety of Repose was out looking for the guy or anything. Gramps had been missing for months, and Gramps' two girlfriends hadn't been seen in ages. So, whatever, Repose sucked. It was just the reality of the place, and Holly could only allow himself to give a shit if Noah went missing or something.
So, right. Only half paying attention, but the movement on the side of the road still caught his attention. He was always kinda reluctant to drive this way, because the buzz out here was fucking loud, and maybe it was that perpetually peripheral concern that made him slam on the brakes as the figure lurched into the road.
And, Holly? He wasn't some kind of fucking hero or anything. He wasn't going to risk his life for something in the road. So he was reaching for his phone, hip up and digging it out of his pocket, and then he kinda caught sight of the thing in the headlights. And, okay, yeah, then he shoved the Jeep into park. Engine still on, lights still blinding, door open behind him, he got out and stormed over to where the dirty girl was standing. The girl that had caused all this fucking trouble. "Where the fuck have you been?" he demanded. Because dirty or whatever, he still recognized her.
