Re: Kit & Tory: Area 52
"A common response to?" Tory asked, genuinely a little curious. Not that he'd signed up to be psychoanalyzed, or whatever, but he was well-acquainted with his own faults and failings. A little bit of truth wasn't going to hurt his feelings, and Kit seemed so...inscrutable, he supposed. He wanted to get the other man talking and learn more about him. Which, he reasoned, he could do by getting him to talk about whatever he perceived Tory's flaws might be.
That was a laundry list of unpleasant things, and the idea of "artificially replicating" them felt a little mad-scientisty. But, it would come as no surprise to anyone that talked to him for more than five minutes that Tory was very science-orientated and interested in pretty much everything regardless of his understanding of it on a technical level. "Really? Any luck, with repairing it? And, how? Surgery, or drugs, or, what? You know, I once read a book called the Terminal Man, are you familiar with it?"
