Re: Kit & Tory: Area 52
Tory thought about that: owning his name. A little pleased that he was the only Tory that Kit knew, though he didn't know why that would please him. Why such a thing should be pleasing when it was just a name; not a particularly uncommon one, either. Not common, but more like rare if you were grading it like trading cards. Not a gold holo foil name like "Bucyrus" or something equally archaic and awful. Not the Black Lotus of names. Just...middling rarity. "I guess I took it upon myself to name...myself," he finished awkwardly. "Nobody was going around calling me by my middle name. In my eight-year-old wisdom, I made that choice," he said with a little laugh. "It's probably good we're not held to account for all the life decisions we make at age eight, right?"
He hadn't, and Kit was smiling and that did put him at ease, so Tory dropped his shoulders and let himself relax a bit. "It's just inherently a cute name," he finally admitted, not having a better explanation than that. "Though maybe a bit old-fashioned? To be honest when I was talking to you on the forums, I kind of thought you might be older." There, that might as well be out in the open, as well. "Not, uh, too much older. Maybe like...ten? Years?" Ish? Tory wasn't spectacular with ages.
