Re: Dietre A./Hugh C.: On the patio
Dietre shifted his clothes to one arm at Heart’s approach so he could bestow her with much petting. “Hello, darling.” He greeted her as sweetly as he would have Sieglinde and crouched to be at her level. Distracted by the dog, he did not see Hugh emerge from the closet in his sleeping attire right away. When he did notice, his brows arched slightly at his bare chest, gaze lingering for a beat for two before he dropped it back down to Heart.
“Um…” Indecision made Dietre hesitate. He looked to the door, then the bed, then to the balcony window, and then to Hugh before going through the cycle a second time. He couldn’t help but think of how appealing that curl looked before Hugh tucked it back into place. And the bed certainly was big… And did he really want to spend the night alone so close to the lake?
Moving slowly, Dietre walked to the chair and set his clothes upon it, signalling his decision to stay. He got his water and took a long sip as he sat lightly on the edge of the bed. Hugh said they could talk, and there was one topic that was bothering Dietre that he wondered would stop if he got it off his chest…
He took a breath, then began with, “...Have I told you about my friend who died out there?” Dietre glanced toward the lake, his expression troubled. “The one who drowned...?”
