Re: Dietre A./Hugh C.: On the patio
Hugh didn't really know what Dietre was thinking with all of this, but he decided he wasn't going to worry about it. It would become clear enough, and if Dietre and he both valued the friendship, then they'd figure it out wherever it went. That - seemed reasonable enough to count on. Or at least, it was the thing keeping him going right at this particular moment.
Hugh stood up and he tugged on Dietre, ready to slide his arm in and around Dietre's waist when the other man stood up. "Yep, I've got plenty of clothes," he responded easily.
The party had mostly cleared out, but even if the hadn't, Hugh probably wouldn't have dropped his arm from around Dietre's waist, after all he'd promised him he'd drag him upstairs, and even if Dietre was definitely capable of walking, it was the principle of keeping the promise.
Hugh's bedroom was up the stairs and down the hall, one of three bedrooms that had their own attached bath, but the only one of the three that had a large stone fireplace in it as well. Zi's bedroom could have easily have been the Master, with its own separate seating area and a larger balcony, but Hugh had arrived in Repose on a cool day, and he'd instantly been drawn to the room that had the fireplace. He unlocked the door, greeted by a disdainful look from his tuxedo cat, Espresso, who glanced up from where he was curled on the pillows.
As they entered the room, Hugh flipped on a lamp on the table, and glanced over at Dietre "You're upstairs, so you're on your own," he teased lightly, as he stepped aside.
Espresso got his fur ruffled, as Hugh moved towards a large walk in closet, and when he emerged a few moments later it was with a couple of pairs of drawstring pants which he deposited on the end of the bed. "Um," he glanced over at Dietre. "So, shower... the bathroom is..." he didn't so much give directions as walk to the door. The center of the bathroom had a large tub with windows surrounding it, but a tile shower was available on one side, and Hugh reached for towels, and turned around to Dietre. "Besides a towel, what do you need?"
