Re: Mat & Ren || Heading toward the Docks
Ren didn't look overly impressed. Oh, he could have, sure, but it wasn't any more impressive than who his Grandfather had been, which wasn't something he brought up on a first conversation - or any conversation when he could help it - instead he only took a swig of the beer and tilted his head at her. "Only if Tennessee Williams isn't an option," he smirked slightly. "Sometimes. Sometimes." There was a beat as he added: "If I do Cabaret, I'll let you know."
He did glance to the water though, and then back to her. That hadn't been his thought at all, but it would definitely qualify as doing something different with his life and the next time he talked to Jamie, he'd be able to say he went skinny dipping with a girl at a party. He didn't really know if this would change the awkwardness that he'd felt the last few times he and Jamie had talked though. He set this thought aside. The lake was possibly not entirely safe, but then neither was Ren, really.
"I'm a patient man," he shrugged. That wasn't probably that true. Not really, but he liked the idea of it being true, and certainly he tried to keep himself pretty tightly controlled. "And I've got a drink." He glanced up at the stars. "Moon's not full so probably won't be seen by the house if that's the sort of thing that worries you."
