Re: In-person: Damian/Burden
Burden's expression, it showed the confusion he felt at the comment about apricots. "What happens in apricot season? I ain't even real sure when apricot season is," he said, not ashamed any of needing to ask for clarification. He reckoned the phrase merely meant something he didn't entirely grasp, and he didn't think Damian would mock him for his lack of knowing. And, truth was, he was caught up fast and plenty in the other boy's smile, the one that came as Damian glanced upward and before turning his attention back on the sand in front of them. And then he was staring. Burden, Burden was staring. He was real aware of Damian's state of undress, which could be was silly, seeing as a boy's bare chest was the same as his own body, but it felt really different to look on Damian in that moonglow, all that dark skin bared and freckles just visible on the other boy's shoulder.
But the looking, the looking was replaced with touching just as soon as Damian took pale fingers and grasped them with his own dark ones. And there wasn't a whole lot of thinking to Burden's request, the one about kissing. Could be it was the least wise thing to do, to ask for more closeness when he was reckoning the shakes were being caused some by the boy at his side. But the choice, it wasn't one based on being wise. His hand shaking in Damian's, he closed his eyes as Damian dipped forward. Burden's lips, they trembled, but he kissed Damian back with growing certainty. He twisted his torso toward the boy, and his free hand went on up to cup a sharp cheek. And it was different than kissing a girl, and it wasn't different any at all. It didn't make the shakes any worse when he licked at Damian's lips, but the shakes didn't abate any either. Still, Burden kept on kissing the other boy beneath that moon and with the sound of water lapping near.
