Re: In-person: Damian/Burden
Burden, he felt loss too. Loss mingled with a whole bunch of confusion, on account of none of this made sense to him. He'd lived a whole life planning on being one thing, the one thing that would make amends for the terrible thing living inside him. His priesthood, it was meant to cancel out that bad darkness, and now he was faced with the fact that could be he wasn't meant for it. And he had no clue how to do penance if not in the way he'd always been schooled to do penance, but there was no lying about the fact that this boy interested him and plenty, and not in some chaste way that had a thing to do with his soul.
And none of that even took into consideration the fact that something was real strange here.
His hand trembled even more as he stopped in front of the little white house, fingers shaking, and he was looking at the simple white, and he was feeling the same sensation in his belly when he'd come out here previous. "I ain't doing real well," he admitted, though he didn't understand why he was reacting to the house how he was. As for significance, he shook his head. "I ain't sure. I was drawn to it, I reckon, dumb as that sounds." It did sound dumb, and this was coming from a boy who believed in holy mysteries. "Do you feel anything near it?" he asked, glancing over at Damian, face paler in moonlight that it had been during the kissing and before the walk, the proximity to boy and house that made the shakes stronger.
