Re: in-person: Holly NW/Noah NW
No, yeah, getting out of Repose was a good idea. The place—especially right now—was a mire of bad feelings and the disturbed graves of memories. Noah hadn't forgotten any of it, because it was barely behind their backs. But, it was fading, just like Holly's anger. The Capital would bring its version of white noise onslaught, but Noah could shoulder that for a while. It was so much better than the weird reinterpretation of a memory he didn't feel like he even had, but apparently did. But, right, that was in the rear view. Literally.
In the Jeep, they were cocooned for a moment from the world. And Noah was mad into Holly's unfettered smile. It kind of scrunched up his face and his eyes smushed and he looked happy af, and it was everything, dude. Fr. Noah was surprised his heart didn't just explode or whatever. He bapped his thigh and Holly leaned closer, so we'll call that a victory. The nip made Noah laugh a little. He wanted to turn and meet it with a kiss, but. Driving.
Instead, he listened to the song Holly chose. It started slow, kind of, like, sultry and old school sounding. Noah smiled at the lyrics as they unspooled in a smoky voice. "I'm so baby!" He sang along the third time the singer repeated it, altering the line to fit him.
