Re: adrian's place; dietre & hugh
Dietre was not asexual, but he did tend to give off that vibe. Love was his chief desire. What he needed was affection and acceptance... Sex was lower on the totem pole, and never the initial spark of his many crushes. It was no wonder Hugh could not determine his level of interest. Dietre did want more. He wanted anything Hugh was willing to give. It was the fact he did not feel that he deserved more than scraps that kept him reserved.
It seemed Dietre was a quick study to anything he put his mind to, be it books, music, and now, apparently, dance. His tutors all found that he made their jobs easy. He liked to learn. Life was simpler when someone showed you what to do. Sadly, the only thing he couldn’t seem to understand was how to fit in with people. That was something he had to learn by himself, he couldn’t just follow someone else’s example like he was doing now, watching Hugh’s feet and he went through the steps of the dance.
He took Hugh’s hand once again, and together they counted through the steps. Hugh was the anchor as Dietre did his spin and he returned to his arms with a smile as they transitioned back into the dance without too much of a gap.
Blue Danube came to an end and left Dietre frowning with indecision. “Um… Did you want to keep dancing?” Dietre did, if only because he liked having an excuse to be close to Hugh. “I know it's getting late, so it's okay if you don’t…”
