Re: adrian's place; dietre & hugh
"I don't want to break your neck," Hugh returned with a quick grin. "Cause then who would play me Chopin? We'll keep ourselves restricted to activities that are unlikely to create broken bones."
Hugh liked seeing Dietre's smile, honestly, it wasn't nearly as prevalent as Hugh was convinced it could be and when one was directed at him, it nearly always made him feel as if he'd won a secret prize. He favored Dietre's request with a smile of his own, and he reached out to take Dietre's hand, stepping in maybe a bit closer than was strictly required, so that he could whisper in the other man's ear. "Don't worry, I've got you covered."
Maybe someday Hugh would teach Dietre to lead, it seemed a useful skill - just generally speaking the sort of thing that he might need at some point, or be glad that he had, and to be honest, Hugh wouldn't mind him taking the lead either. But for right now he simply slipped his hand around Dietre's back, and stepped in, with his other hand firmly pressed into Dietre's as he took a moment to consider the music and then began dancing again.
This was a different waltz, but for the moment Hugh just kept them moving through the steps. He let them find this rhythm, enjoying the feel of Dietre's hand against his, and being able to look into his eyes as close as he was. "You're pretty good at this," he leaned in with a warm smile. "Do you want to try a turn?"
