"I don't know that I'd say so much of that, I mean, you seem to have kind of the perfect job for you these days, so that seems like a decent sort of life to be yours," he grinned quickly across at Dietre. He knew that maybe it hadn't always been so. That much had been clear in their conversations thus far, but one didn't need a mansion by a lake to have a decent life, you just needed people, and something meaningful to work with.
"I don't believe that we have, but I hope I'll get the chance to meet him," Hugh took a bite of his own food, pausing for a moment before he continued. "And I can't judge anyone for being reclusive, I certainly was the whole first year I was here. But that's brilliant news for him, and for you. It's nice when good things happen for people we care about, and I'm glad you have someone back in town again." Dietre had seemed to imply that everyone left, and Hugh hoped maybe this would remind him that sometimes people came back too. "How did the two of you meet?"
