Re: capullo de rosa; dietre & hugh
“It's not much of a life, but it's mine,” Dietre said with a nod. And it was a life that was getting better, thanks to Hugh’s arrival in it. His loneliness was not quite so crushing even if he was finding himself on the wrong end of an unrequited crush. He survived them before, he could do it again. Hopefully. He just needed to try to have a somewhat positive view on things.
Though the conversation kept delving into the serious and distracting him from his meal, Dietre did think his filet was very good. Food never held high priority with him (which was why he often bordered on being too slim) but he was enjoying this enough to remind himself to tell Caspar so the next time they spoke.
Zee. What passions of Hugh did she understand, Dietre wondered. He shoved that thought away before his brain could come up with any imagery. He still didn’t think she was someone he could compete against.
“He left a while before Aleksi did, and was still away when I came back. I wrote him a letter while he was gone, but he never answered it so I was rather worried…” That had been a hard time indeed, when all his friends began to disappear. Daniel, Adrian, Misha, Aleksi… all within a short time of each other. “So it's been a relief that he’s come back.”
“His name is Daniel Webster. I’m not sure if you might have spoken to him before? He was more than a little reclusive… Definitely worse than me,” he explained. “But he says he’s able to leave his home now, which is something he did not like to do at all before, so his time away has resulted in some improvement and I’m happy for him.” Many of Dietre’s friends, past and present, were like himself, reserved and a bit depressed. He couldn’t help but seek these kinds of people out, feeling like they were the ones most likely to understand him.
