[news: the capital]
[A news story comes out of the capital on Tuesday that may resonate for those that saw a certain memory - after a gruesome scene of blood was found at a local church last week, authorities have been searching for the body of its popular young priest, Jacob Montgomery, 38.
On Tuesday, a dog-walker calls the police to complain of a nasty smell emanating from the basement of the church. This church was only built in the thirties - there is no sepulchre, no crypt here. The basement is mostly used to store old documents and props for nativity plays. It was already searched, searched twice in fact, but it turns out the dead man was hidden in plain sight, concealed behind a pile of stacked boxes in a distant corner. When the boxes are pulled away there is Montgomery, hanging from the ceiling with his cassock tied around his neck, secured to a dripping pipe in the ceiling. The news reports that the man was badly beaten and his jaw was broken, but the police are surely holding more back. No pictures of the scene are issued, and the police are terse when questioned on the matter.
A shocked parish grieves. The identity of the killer isn't solid, but it does bear a resemblance to other killings, more than a year ago now, all attributed to a single responsible party. The long gap makes the connection tenuous, but it is possible that the Revenant has killed again.]
