Re: Home: Outside: Iris/Manning
It was rare enough for her to show it, even rarer for it to take the physical form it did now as she planted her hands on his chest and shoved. It was not her strength he felt as he staggered backwards, but something else, and he wanted to smile -- but he knew better than to smile in the face of his wife's rage.
The second push, he stumbled less. If she came for a third, he would catch up, by the words -- it had been quick. He'd been too -- enraged knowing what he'd done to Amelia, how his daughter had deserved better than what she'd received at his hands. "He raped her," Manning stated, voice cracking like thunder. "And I could not tolerate him alive on this Earth for one second longer."
Had he been the type that could let his anger cool, he might have been able to make his vengeance last. But he hadn't. Knowledge of what her husband had done beat through his brain until there was nothing else, and then where was only blood splattering against his face and the crunch of bone with no room for regrets.
