Repose is weird af and he gets that. Maybe he knew that all those many years ago when he first came with his parents and he was a tiny, solemn, black haired boy running on an all too large lawn every chance he could get.
But it's been a long time since that point, or no, it's been days and days and months since. And he's caught in another one, mentally strong enough that some underlying awareness slips beneath it all. Photography and a man she knows and coffee cups. None of it entirely makes sense, like a story watched in pieces, too many breaks and pauses in it to be understood. Ren's not certain exactly what happened, but in the end as he stares across his apartment kitchen into the living room beyond, the mood of the memory lingers uneasily.
He pushes his shoulders back and up and tries to shake it away but it reminds him of his own memories sometimes, dreams he sometimes has had, not real, but this must have been real enough at some point to someone. He rolls his shoulders, and reaches for the freezer pizza he just warmed up, and he heads for the living room as if getting lost in whatever dumb shit there is on NetFlix might throw off the mood, or break-up whatever it is.
It occurs to him what should have occurred to him after the first one. Whatever this is, he probably could stop it. Mental shields, curl in on himself and all that, and it might not be the worst thing to do that, cause this particular one has him more edgy than he'd like and he can feel it crawling under his skin, and his emotions are a long way from chill. The pizza sits on the coffee table and he closes his eyes, and pulls one mental shield up after another. It's Repose, so who knows if it'll work, but it's worth a try.
