He is halfway through a bowl of ice cream when this hits. If one cannot control memories, maybe one can control one's carb intake - which is to say, eat a lot of them. The location is so familiar to him, that it's like watching a film he's seen a dozen times.
It's been years since he's been in class, years also since he's snuck into the back of one lecture just because he thought he could gain something from it. There'd been a couple- guest lecturers, and you sort of shuffled in and hoped you didn't get caught.
There's the strangeness of language, and then the growing familiarity - and it's quick, and this feels both completely natural, and somewhat foreign as well. It's elation, and the embarrassment is feigned, as pretend as the actions he puts out on a stage, an emotional reality intended for someone else - not for himself. For himself, there's the delight of a little more understanding.
When he's back to himself, staring at the large picture windows that over look the lake, his bowl of ice cream a little more melted than it was previously, and he can't move. He knew that campus. That classroom, although he only had a quarter of Spanish that he really can't remember much of in it. And he doesn't know what language that was, just that it was picked up...
There's one person in Repose who he knows would know that place. On the other hand, Repose has so many strange circumstances, maybe it's not that unreasonable that someone else might too. Despite the size of the town, it collects people from corners, and... some of them have to know a number of different languages too. Maybe the facility somehow.
He downs another bite of ice cream and stands up, walking towards the kitchen, Heart clambering to her feet to follow, and he stares down into the bowl, considering if he should say something. Maybe... overall, like, about the memories or whatever this is. About that memory specifically? But how do you explain something that probably is basically magic?
He presses his fingers to his forehead and leaves them there to press the stress away. Maybe after dinner he can figure out a way to broach it.
