Dietre also made no movement to get up. They were both so comfortable that he didn’t have it in him to ruin it. His eyes watched the names scrolling on the television without actually reading anything, his expression languid.
“I’m not sure I should say,” he replied to Hugh’s question. He was still in that rare, playful mood. “I’m afraid that you’ll be offended if I like it better than your favorite.” No, he knew Hugh wouldn’t be, but he wanted to tease, to draw out their conversation as long as he could. That way he wouldn’t have to leave. So far he couldn’t even if he wanted to, not with Hugh leaning against him the way he was. If Dietre moved the man would likely end up flopping over, and we simply couldn’t have that, could we?
“I enjoyed it very much,” he announced at last. “The music was particularly nice, I can see why it won an oscar.” Dietre appreciated the score being inspired by works he was familiar with, it made him pay closer attention to see what he could hear mixed into the songs.
