Re: lakeside mansion; hugh c. & dietre a.
It was disappointing to have Hugh get up from the couch, but it was inevitable really. A faint smile lingered on Dietre lips as he watched Hugh search for the movie, he looked to be in a very good mood now. Whatever gloominess Dietre sensed on the forums was nowhere to be found. The same could be said for himself, he felt better than he had in a long while. His life was looking up; he had a new job that he liked and a friend who enjoyed his company. What more could he ask for, given the depths of his lows that stuck him back in Quiet Home for months?
“Given your rave review I don’t think it's possible for me to not like it.” Hugh had made no guarantees over him loving Dirty Dancing, yet appeared convinced he’d love this one. So which movie was actually his favorite Dietre wondered, still amused.
Dietre hadn’t shifted over to make any more space for Hugh. He hoped they could sit as they had before, and was quite pleased when Hugh settled right back down against him seemingly without a second thought. He leaned into the man a little bit more than necessary, wanting to savour this comfortable closeness as much as possible in case it did not happen again.
Henrich Abendroth would have indeed frowned upon ‘princess stories’, perhaps that is why they never showed their faces in his home, preventing temptation entirely. He would have frowned upon cartoons as a whole, actually, though Dietre had no such qualms. He was open minded enough to appreciate the artistry involved, and it was clear as the movie started that this was not some cheaply made show meant to entertain bored children on a saturday morning. The stained glass motif certainly caught his eye.
The fact the movie opened with a piano heavy melody was a big plus, Dietre perked up right away. He listened to it intently, fixing it into his memory. “Oh, I’ll have to try to play that when I get home…”
