Re: lakeside mansion; hugh c. & dietre a.
"I could see it," Hugh responded. Especially two different instruments - it might be different than lines or physicality, but it would require knowing the separate pieces, knowing the timing of the other person, what to do if something skipped or went awry. It didn't seem unreasonable at all.
Hugh turned, wondering if there was anyone who didn't want to believe the possibility of it deep down. Granted he was a romantic, and that did probably tend to make him more interested in it than some, but did anyone not want connection with another person?
He'd considered asking if Dietre danced, a few minutes before, and the conversation had moved elsewhere, and Hugh hadn't done it, and the statement now just pulled a smile to Hugh's lips again. It was as if Dietre had read his mind, even if he hadn't really at all, but it did make Hugh smile and he kicked back the remaining sip of his wine, and reached for the bottle, judging the remaining amount in it, and then pouring off about half in his, and holding it out so he could finish the remainder of the rest off in Dietre's glass.
"You know I was going to ask if you danced," he told him, eyes bright again. "Because if you did, then I'd take you dancing someplace nice - not you know, all clubs and bumping against people - but since you don't, I've been told I'm a good teacher. If you decide you do want to pick it up."
