Re: [Lakeside Manor: Hugh & Atticus]
"The bard would have said 'stuff,' had he lived today. Am certain of it." Grinned. Literature, that was a topic Atticus could sink his teeth into. "Never know if you're going to be good at writing until you write. Every day. Even when you don't feel like it. Even when you think you suck. Might be like acting, come to think of it? Keep at it, and you improve. Always room for improvement in writing. Take it from a connoisseur who can't write for shit." Was unapologetic about that. "But think it's fine not to want to be aware of those things. Most people don't want to know. Cross themselves as they pass cemeteries and wouldn't dream of going there at night. That sort of thing." Understood that fear motivated a lot of people. Wasn't sure if fear motivated Hugh, though. Thought it was a desire to have the world be how he wanted it, rather than a fear, per se.
Grinned again. Still lazy. "Think I'll hold off on any journeys right now. Am off the island and getting to know the town, the time, myself here. Plenty for me right now. Will leave the connections and romances to you, friend." Another smile, and then he finished the brownie before adding: "Can share your stories. Don't mind living vicariously, while allowing you to take all the risks. Never did like risks." Even now, feeling strong and healthy and confident, he wasn't actually in any hurry to go hunting for trouble.
"However," he said, moving to his feet, "I do owe you a meal as thanks for the conversation and the brownies. Someone I can schedule with? Agent?" he asked. Joking.
