Re: [Lakeside Manor: Hugh & Atticus]
"Cursed productions could make a lot of money. Bet you'd sell every seat, every night. Like Hamilton." Might have come from 1999, but even Atticus had heard about Hamilton. "B&B rooms are always sold out. Ghost hunters, wanting to spend a night in a room with their EVP and EMP. All hoping to capture something, but don't believe technology can capture ghosts." Was an opinion. Had no solid backing, but knew there were supernatural things out there, and also knew he'd seen no real captured proof of that. But it was a better turn to the conversation. Was easy to joke about death when it was a pop culture reference. Set aside the reality of decomp and rotting bones. "Think something concrete would have been captured on film by now if it was possible." Was 20 years later than his time, and still hadn't seen anything convincing.
Nodded as he rubbed the denim at his thighs idly. "That's what I mean. Think there has to be some connection point between people. Interests, beliefs, emotions, past. List is endless, but think there has to be something." Considered friendships. "Think I'm working on some deeper friendships. Haven't been here all that long. Have mostly interacted with the world digitally until this point. Guess you could say am in my friendship infancy." Grinned his usual, lazy grin. "Hugh, think everyone wants to be liked. Think everyone wants to get the good review, the A+ on the test. Think humans have an innate desire to be top dog. Some would say that's ensured our survival. Others would say its certain to be our downfall. Prefer to think it's somewhere in the middle. No shame in wanting what you want, Hugh. Just need to understand that not meeting those expectations doesn't mean you failed."
