log: sue/atticus - the mean-eyed cat
Who: Sue and Atticus
What: Stir craziness at The Mean-Eyed Cat
When: Recently
Warnings: None yet
Sue had his elbows on the bar, and the seats to his left and right were empty. So were the glasses in front of him. Just two, so far - two tall ones and two shot glasses, technically. He was buzzing, but not flying, not sleepy. He was actually nursing beer number three.
It was just so good to be in a room that had people in it. Strangers. He also liked the Cat. It had good and bad old memories associated with it. He hated the fucking soundtrack as much as he had since he first came to this town. Hadn't he been kicked out that time? Anyway, nobody still working here seemed to give a shit. It was a strangely comforting mainstay. It hadn't changed, no matter how much everything else had, and, more importantly, it wasn't a fucking cabin in the woods.
Breaking out of the case and then out of Ren's place had made him feel weirdly like he was getting away with something, and just that feeling made him really fucking angry. He wasn't an animal, he'd gone in willingly enough, but he was going to lose his fucking mind. Losing his fucking mind hadn't been part of the deal.
His hair had gotten way long in the case with no maintenance. It almost brushed his shoulders. He was clean-shaven, though, because nobody liked a scrub brush on their asshole, and he was a gentleman.
The next attractive guy who passed by the bar got a wave and a friendly smile. He patted the worn seat next to him. He was going to make the most of the evening. He was going to make the most of his freedom. He was going to make the most of crushing any guilt in his chest like a fucking bug.
"Siddown," he said. His eyes were ordinary, not pale with fog, as would have once been a guarantee. He had a slanted smile. "You're cute, I'm bored and cute, we're a match made in heaven."
