Re: tandy & holly; the music store
Yeah, the gym was good to go. And as sure as Holly was that the place would be successful, he was also hoping it would be a place that made Noah happy in a long-term way. But, right, he was planning on opening doors soon, and he would understand her selfishness. Being selfish? Kept people alive, and he appreciated that shit. Noah, for example, wasn't selfish. So, Holly? Holly was selfish enough for both of them.
But the store was doing good. Better than he expected, actually, and he credited himself with that. It wasn't as if Gramps was doing anything to ensure the place's success. And he didn't think Gramps was missing or anything, since shit was still getting paid for, so whatever. Holly depended on Noah these days, and Noah depended on him, and everything else was bullshit. "So, no hanging around cops. Got it." For her, with her knife thing, and while he was deadpan about it? The sentiment was a legitimate one, because they were building a second prison for powered individuals, and that made shit twice as dangerous.
"Okay, wait, wait. They were that way before you left? So, you had them before?" Which wasn't so weird, because this version of Repose was like 90% weird people with weird shit going on. "Yeah, cauterization requires bloodflow, but knives are for stabbing or whatever, right? I mean, why would you manifest some glowing active weapon? Are you scared of being attacked or something?" He wasn't a scientist either, but he loved poking holes in theories. "Have you tried for something other than knives?" And, lastly: "Could your parents maybe do fucked up shit?" Maybe it was hereditary or something, like some congenital thing.
