Re: lakeside mansions: Dietre A. & Hugh C.
"Yeah, they always do," Hugh agreed, his own eyes clouding for a moment. "I think when I said I didn't do relationships, it was protection," he laughed, maybe a little bitterly. "Like, if it was just sex and hanging out and having a good time, and there was never any expectation of it being more, then you know - having it hurt when it fell apart didn't factor."
Until he'd fallen for Em, and the lie had been that it was just friends with benefits, but it hadn't been.
He could feel that Dietre had talked as much as he wanted to, and it was something Hugh was sympathetic to. He knew it sometimes was good for him to talk, but also, he hated feeling forced into it. It was better if it came naturally, and that moment had come and gone.
He nodded, bringing his leg back onto his mat, and shifting to a standing position with the easy grace of someone who had definitely done a lot of dance and physical training over the years. "I think even if they hadn't, it's time to punctuate this whole stretching time with some carbs. I've got muffins, if you're interested?"
