Re: Milkshake Bar: Ren & Alex
Alex had feelings about costumes, though most of them tended to revolve around the fact that he couldn't afford a nice one. Also, finding one outside of the Halloween season if you didn't already have one lying around at home wasn't easy on short notice. And while it hadn't been super short notice, it had been short enough. Also, for working at a comic shop and having a general appreciation of comic books, he wasn't really into superheroes all that much. Long story short, he didn't wear a costume. It didn't seem super required. Plus, they had been thoughtfully and helpfully provided at the door, so when Alex arrived, pulling himself away from his new cat with, well, considerable difficulty and a bit of guilt, he picked up a sparkly fox mask and called it good. He wasn't sure what it had to do with heroes, but it was cute.
He'd greeted Audrey and caught her up on how Nyx was adjusting to his new home, but upon hearing the words "milkshake bar," Alex was all sorts of there. Because milkshakes had always been a rare and special treat (rare like unicorns rare, growing up, as in nonexistent), they were pretty much his absolute favorite. And now, well, people were just giving them away. It blew his little mind.
When he found Ren there, he had to wonder if the man was just frozen into inaction by the sheer number of possibilities. It seemed likely. While they hadn't talked much outside of Alex's daily coffee orders and the forums, as well as Spamalot, Alex liked the guy, and he thought it was cool to run into him here. "Hey," he greeted, slouching to Ren's side to look over the options with him. "So what're you thinkin?"
