Foot of the stairs: Burden/Open
Burden, he'd considered asking Damian to come to this housewarming party with him, but he'd decided that wouldn't be real fair to Damian or Audrey. It would be setting her up for a bad time, and it wouldn't be something he reckoned Damian would enjoy, and so Burden had decided to drop in on his own, seeing as he wasn't working at The Cat that night, and he'd told Father Amos he was going to be busy attending a social gathering in Repose. Father Amos, he was still real eager to learn about the town's strange happenings, and he didn't mind allowing Burden the night away from doing work for him in the Capital. Which was how Burden found himself at the house in the neighborhood, his heroic costume worn over something simple. And, as promised, he had a gift beneath his arm, which he'd told Audrey he'd be bringing.
Burden let himself inside, and he set the tray on a sideboard. It wasn't wrapped, but there was a small card taped to the bottom, one that had his name written on the back. And, having set his gift aside, he wandered on into the living area, where he looked around at the food available. He didn't take anything for himself, but he did appreciate that everything looked real pretty. And he was real accustomed to socializing, but he was generally either serving drinks, talking God, or trying to slip his hand into someone's pocket. But tonight he wasn't serving drinks or tending flock, and he sure wasn't intending on stealing anything here. It was as good a time as any to meet some folks in this town, seeing as he didn't see anyone familiar from the bar yet. So, after walking around the living room some, he took himself over to the kitchen, where he poured himself some water and doctored it with ice cubes, and then he wandered back out and sat himself on the second-to-bottom stair, leaving enough room for folks to walk by if they needed to head on upstairs.
