Re: log: caspar & dietre; an audition
Caspar recognized something in Dietre. It wasn't talent, not immediately.. While they were both sipping their wine over fling-brief words and publicly traded smiles(Dietre's at times seemed almost paper thin), Caspar was reluctant to put his finger on what it was that he saw of himself in the young artist. It wasn't the bone structure. Because while Caspar had always found himself the most visually appealing person in any given room, Dietre's cheekbones could have cut like a knife. Caspar nearly said so, but decided against it in favor of a more professional working relationship. Because once Dietre began to play, Caspar was determined to hire him. So rather than say anything off color, he sipped his wine, closed his eyes, and savored.
And the music? It did not disappoint. Dietre's talent was evident from the first chords? Notes? Caspar knew really nothing about musical theory himself, but he'd heard a piano played enough times to know that this was better than good. More wine was poured as the song played on and Caspar could envision it all so perfectly. Dietre would be a fine addition to Caspar's passion project, something pretty to tuck away in a corner.
Caspar didn't applaud when the music was over, but the expression in his eyes was congratulatory and a little envious when he nodded approval at the end. "I really only have one question: Do you own a tuxedo?"
