"It felt steady," he said, as he leaned close to Ren. Ren was his rock, he was coming to realize. He didn't want to admit it, didn't want to even think it to himself, really, but it was true. Ren was the person he could most rely on - the person who was consistently there for him, who let him live in a box in his house, who helped him out when he was an absolute mess. "It felt good." And it had. And that was something too.
He let himself be surrounded in that hug. He wasn't miniature, but Ren definitely had height on him, and there was comfort in getting a big fucking hug from someone he cared about. He didn't realize that anything else had come with it, but as Ren used his power to soothe a little, he sagged, relaxing further. It would all be all right. This was a step in the right direction.
"Tea. God. Tea sounds lovely." The british came out hard on that one. He didn't quite smile, he didn't have it in him just yet. But he looked up at Ren, and he was very, very grateful.
