Re: cottage; ren & adrian
"Yeah," Ren nodded simply. He understood in a way, he thought. It wasn't quite the same because his power was internal and a part of him, but at the same time, he'd been afraid to fully utilize it for a very long time and in a way it seemed that this had made it worse. "I think - we go slow, maybe see what it feels like if you aren't fighting with it. What happens. We can always re-evaluate."
He fell into silence as he watched Adrian. His gaze darted between the man and the rock, his own senses alert to shifts in power. He'd become aware of what the Obscurus felt like. It felt different from Adrian, but recognizable as connected to him. Ren held his breath, barely daring to breathe as the rock wobbled, and the hovering, the steadiness - Adrian's words not Ren's - and it seemed to hold for a moment, Adrian seemed to control it, and Ren's tongue darted out to moisten his lips, and he swallowed as the rock dropped. "That seemed steady and good," he murmured.
And, "yes," was the instantaneous answer, as Adrian sagged against him, and Ren immediately wrapped an arm around him. What had just happened was as good as Ren could have hoped for in this particular moment, but he could also tell that it had taken a lot out of Adrian, and both arms wrapped around him, wrapping him up both in Ren's own physical presence, and perhaps a little extra emotional warmth that could be offered in the Force.
Ren breathed in, burying any emotions that might have come from that particular revelation pretty deeply. Adrian didn't need him to get angry about it, but Adrian might need to talk about it, and Ren could offer that listening ears. He looked into Adrian's eyes, and lifted a hand up to touch his cheek gently. "Yeah, let's go in," he shifted his arm to support Adrian around his waist. "You can sit down and I'll make you some tea, yeah. That was a lot." But progress in the right direction, at least it felt like it.
