Re: [B&B: Dante & Holly]
Yeah, Holly's head was a shit place right now. He knew he was angry? Like really angry, but he wasn't actually even sure what the real genesis of his anger was. It was just there, all the time, and he was working on letting it not spill the fuck over everything, which was proving to be a challenge. But this brace thing? He was hoping it would help. He wasn't getting his hopes up, because he knew better, and he got that it was going to hurt like fucking crazy, even if it did work, but he was still hoping. He'd totally tell you he wasn't hoping, but he was.
So, yeah, he watched her and her bags. He knew Atticus as Noah's boss, but that was all. It did make his mind wander to the fact that he probably needed to get a car, especially if walking over to the music store was going to become harder. Who the fuck was he kidding? Walking over to the music store was going to become harder.
But, right, nightmares. He didn't push. Not yet. I mean, he got a feeling Dante was kinda like him, you know, as far as letting people in. And, god, he really hated it when people he'd just met insisted on seeing his guts. So, yeah, he nodded at her, acknowledging it, and then he was immediately distracted by the thing she pulled out of the bag. His face, when he looked at her, showed youthful confusion. "That looks more like a wrap... thing." Because, yeah, he was expecting some behemoth metal thing. But she was talking, and... "An AI? Like a robot?" Okay, so maybe some stuff was persistent across timelines. "Okaaaaay." Skeptical, but, god, that hope that he was trying keep tamped down to, like, teensy weed status? Yeah, that was definitely fighting to grow. "So, you're saying it's like the autocorrect on my phone. It needs to learn shit." Simplistic, but, okay. He got it.
"Fuck, yeah." He was ready. "Um, what's the pain going to be like?" When he put it on? Because the nasty brace from the hospital? He could barely stand that thing, and he wanted to know if he was looking at the same level of discomfort, because for Holly? Knowing what to expect, however bad? Was always better than not knowing.
