The overall look of the house remained the same as it had during Christmas with the only differences being the mistletoe had been removed and various NYE art deco themed decorations had been added around the first floor of the house. It wasn’t anything extensive, but enough to give a taste and theme for the night if people had chosen to dress up or not. As Dante had previously outlined on her network post the evening came with a schedule of events starting with casual arrivals, leading into a large homemade dinner for all guests, containers of grapes at midnight for eating and making wishes with a digital chime, Pan Dulce with coffee, fireworks, dancing and the luggage walk to end the night assuming people didn’t want to hang around after that as well. As with the event prior Dante would attempt to greet guests as they arrived but dubbed her father second in command for getting the door for the night. With all of the cooking, scheduling and other items that the hostess had to keep track of tonight having a backup was required if she wanted a minute to herself at all. While the invite stated arrival to the general guest list at 8pm, those closer - Hugh, Diego, Chris, Leena - were allowed to begin arriving as early as 6pm without fuss or complaint and her father had carte blanche on his arrival time. However, Dante would disappear around 6:30pm - leaving food to cook with a timer - to ready herself, only showing up downstairs again around 7:40pm in her dress, heels that matched in color and design of the dress, and having done her hair and makeup. There were a few accessories to match the dress and shoes - a couple of rings, a necklace that settled loosely around her neck - and then in striking contrast were the silver earrings from Chris worn obviously on display. New Years was one of her favorite holidays and anyone who would interact with Dante that night would easily be able to tell by the cheer in her demeanor and the bright, happy smile plastered across her face. |
