• Open to arrivals at78pm, don't expect people around until 9pm.
• Dinner at 10:30pm.
• Dinner will be started with an Ensalada de Noche Buena and Chicken Pozole and will be followed by a Bacalao a la Vizcaino with a saffron rice and lentils. If you have any allergies tell me now so I can make sure there's a proper dinner alternative for you. Dinner typically is carried through until the midnight countdown starts.
• There will be Ponche Navidad in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic varieties: "Ponche Navidad is a hot Mexican punch made with various fruits (tejocotes, guavas, apples to name a few) cinnamon and sweetened with piloncillo (small dark compressed brown sugar cones)"
• Before it turns to midnight everyone will get a small container with 12 grapes and a piece of Pan Ducle. With each chime that brings in the new year, you're supposed to eat one grape and make a wish as you eat the grape. The goal is to eat all of the grapes before the chime finishes ringing out the time. When you eat the Pan Dulce be careful as one of the sweets will hold a coin. You get the coin? That means you're going to be the luckiest person in the upcoming year.
• We're all touchy so normally there's hugging and air kisses and shit after the grapes and Pan Dulce.
• Time for coffee and more Pan Dulce, talks, dancing. Someone wanna play DJ? I'll move the living room furniture around, give us some space to dance.
• 1am Fireworks in the back yard
• 2am: If you wanna hang around this long bring a few things you might take with you when you travel to a new place. We have a tradition of taking a piece of luggage and filling it up and taking a walk with it around the block. It's meant to signify you having safe travel and wonderful adventures. If it's too cold we can pile them up in the living room and walk around in a circle.
• 3am More dancing and drinks? Feel free to head out?
• Whenever you're tired you're more than welcome to leave. Don't feel you're safe to drive? Then you're crashing at my house. We'll be fish bowling all the car keys when people arrive and you're gonna need to talk to me and show me you're sober before I'll give your keys back.
• There are a few things I'll need to do for the house but don't stress. If you see me hucking water out the window or throwing some coins around I'll be back with you in a second.
• Remember +1/-1 Rules are always in effect for any party I throw.
