So, a real meal. That didn't seem like a terrible thing to ask, in the grand scheme of things, and Alex had to admit that it had a certain appeal. He mostly ate garbage, himself, or food from the bad diner. Which, if anything, proved how little he regarded his own mortality. Not that he had any wish to die of food poisoning or worse.
But he was left to wonder just how it was that Shiloh knew Heath, thinking that there had to be more to it (or maybe not, hard to tell, really), because the tall man was already leaving. Alex hadn't even thought of a Christmas tree. It seemed like a luxury. At any rate, he didn't have time to do more than raise his bandaged fingers in a wave that didn't actually involve his hand moving, and give a quick "Okay, bye. Thanks." before Shiloh was out the bedroom door, and after another moment, Alex heard the front door open and close again. Well, that was that.
