Re: Disembarking: Jack/Heath/Chris
Chris nodded, patting Heath on the shoulder as he disentangled himself from their hug. "You can tell me just how weird it was when we get home." She didn't have time to process much besides cold, under-dressed and needs a hot beverage before he leaped into the backseat, but she did find a knot in her chest finally relaxing for the first time in well over an hour. Heath was safe, no visible tragedy had occurred, they would be okay.
Blinking at the stranger, Chris shook her head to focus her eyes on her brother's companion. He was dressed slightly warmer than Heath it seemed, but not by much. She smiled in response to his gratitude, which though nice, was unnecessary. "And it's nice to meet you too, Jack. Thanks for keeping my brother company tonight and making sure he didn't freeze by the roadside."
Both men safely ensconced in her warm car, Chris crossed over to the driver's side and rushed in before the cold. "Take a second to warm up, I'll turn up the heat." The tip of her nose had already started to get cold in the few moments she had been outside, and she was overwhelmed by yet another powerful urge to hug her brother. "Is the plan still to go back to the house or am I dropping you off elsewhere, Jack?"
