Re: [B&B: Holly & Noah]
Nah, it was never just a kiss. With Noah, it had never been just a kiss. I mean, Holly wasn't some closet romantic who believed in soulmates and some kind of cosmic plan for everyone to find their perfect love or something. He was into old stuff, and maybe he was kinda traditional about, like, monogamy and stuff, but he didn't think the universe had aligned to bring him and Noah together. But what he did know? Was that it had never been just a kiss. By the time their first conversation online had gone full-tilt? Shit had been different. Holly had felt insane butterflies when he went to sleep that first night, and they hadn't stopped fluttering their wings since then. He was crazy into Noah, and he'd been crazy into the guy before ever clapping eyes on him in person, before touching him, before kissing him, before all of it.
But, yeah, it was never just a kiss. And it wasn't just a kiss now. It was emotional overflow, and Holly stared a little after pulling back. Chill, okay, he was so chill, but he stared as Noah's gaze remained all half-lidded for a moment. And he wasn't expecting the brush of hands, but he somehow managed to not react to it in any desperate way. But he did feel desperate. He wanted to scale that counter and grab the guy, but he didn't.
And he was just as chill handing over the bag, even as a little thrill coursed through his gut. He didn't show it much, or he thought he didn't, but he kinda dug it when Noah was all man-husband like. I mean, he wasn't admitting that aloud or anything, okay? But, yeah. "Good. Take a break," he said bossily, glancing toward the empty stairs when Noah motioned. "You should probably change," he added, because he was practical, see, and he was willing to let Noah out of his sight for, like, five minutes. Okay, okay, so that was probably needy as fuck, but whenever Noah got him all spiked and worried? Holly wanted to stay right by his fucking side. "I kinda missed you too," he added, king of deadpan incarnate, after that arm sling, and then he slipped away. "Go. I'll meet you out there." His grin was a line of lips and no teeth, but playful all the same. "You can carry my bag upstairs. Sure."
