Re: Recovery Center: Travis & Marta
Well into a chapter about court intrigue, Marta didn’t pay much attention to what was going on around her. More than that, she and Travis hadn’t agreed on any specific day or time for him to visit - She’d only said a time that was good for him. She’d given her doctor Travis’ name and a general description, and then had tried to put it out of her mind. She was still trying to not hope for too many things, knowing that disappointment was worse than not receiving something.
So she was entirely unaware of Travis’ approach, and not expecting his sudden presence in the common room. It even took her a moment to pull her attention away from the story on her tablet when he spoke, but then she was blinking and looking up, and it took her by surprise how happy she was to see him standing there. The smile that spread its way across her face was likely an unfamiliar thing to him, it being a very rare thing in they’d known each other.
“Travis!” Her words still hadn’t completely returned, and she was much quieter than she’d once been (a little self conscious about the speech difficulties she had). There was a little hesitation before she got his name out, like the sounds had to take a slight detour to make it past her lips, but she was managing. She was getting better at it. “H-i. Sit?” Her smile stayed warm and pleased to see him, and she scrunched her feet in even farther as she closed the cover of the tablet, her eyes glancing to the side to indicate the wide expanse of couch available to him.
