Re: coffeeshop: ren solitaire & newt penhaligon
There was a quick smirk, the amusement mostly visible in his eyes as he continued his work. He wasn't put off by it, feeling more at home with the reserved nature of Newt than possibly with some of the other people that came in. At least Newt wasn't going to expect him to make small talk and pointless conversation, which at the current moment was a bit of a relief. He could do it, and did a lot of the time, but recently he'd found it more tiring to do than when he first arrived in Repose. He didn't always want to spend a lot of time thinking about why that was, nor was he certain it was a bad thing, exactly. And at least this particular encounter wasn't going to leave him feeling deficient.
He reached for the Assam, measuring out the leaves and putting them into the small single serve kettle they had for in-house customers.
At some point he maybe would need to learn more about Newt's magic, but at the moment, he was mostly concerned with getting a place for him to help Adrian. He poured out the water, put the lid on the tea kettle, and turned his attention to Newt with a businesslike nod. "Yeah, okay." A beat. "So I figure I don't necessarily need a space to sleep or whatever, but one might not hurt, just in case. I think we're gonna bring the case to my house, so he'll be there, like, in the case or whatever, and I can go down and help him." Hopefully. Some uncertainly still gnawed at this, because Ren didn't know if he'd be able to help Adrian, he just hoped he could. And on some level there were still early memories of way back when he'd first come to Repose, when he'd talked Adrian down out of a catastrophe of some sort, back before he'd even understood. "And something that's large enough to ... IDK, work with, with him?"
